Lady Vikings tame Lady Broncos   In a throw-down volleyball match-up, in-which games were decided by two to three points, a young Elizabeth City Lady Vikings squad, the 2008 defending Eastern division champions, tapped out the Fayetteville State Lady Bronco, the defending 2007 CIAA and Western Division champions , in four games (22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 27-25) Sunday in the annual CIAA Volleyball Round-up in Capel Arena at Fayetteville State in Fayetteville, N.C. Fighting Hawks Down Eagles The Maryland Eastern Shore “Lady Fighting Hawks" top the North Carolina Central "Lady Eagles" 3-1 in a best of five series in NCAA Division I Volleyball on Sunday on campus at NCCU's in Durham, NC. The Lady Eagles historically a slow starter drop the first game 13 to 25, with the Lady Hawks in hot pursuit  host Eagles won the 2nd game 25 to 23, then dropped the 3rd match 14 to 25, and were closed out in the final game 21 to 25. UMES' Christine Edwards accounted for 16 kills of the Lady Hawks 53 Kills vs. 40 for the young Lady Eagle squad with 11 new players.
